Add AR to smart glasses
without compromising
form factor, comfort, or appearance.
Appearance
All-day glasses
Fourier AR™ preserves the form factor and appearance of all-day glasses.
It comprises a metasurface optical combiner, invisibly embedded inside the ophthalmic lens
without increasing its thickness, changing its contours, or altering its curved surface,
and a µLED projector, discreetly embedded inside the glasses frame.
Comfort
Adds < 1.5g
Fourier AR™ preserves the comfort of eyewear.
It comprises a metasurface optical combiner that weighs less than 0.5g,
and a µLED projector that weighs less than 1g.
Performance
> 5,000 nits/lumen
Fourier AR™ achieves key performance metrics including a 25° (diagonal) field of view,
a 10 × 10 mm eyebox, 25 PPD, full color, transparency > 95%, efficiency > 5,000 nits/lumen,
and no eye glow, glare, or rainbow artifacts.
Cost
< $10
Fourier AR™ overcomes the cost barrier.
It comprises a metasurface optical combiner that is fabricated for less than $3 per unit,
integrating it inside the ophthalmic lens adds less than $5, and the µLED projector optics adds less than $2.
How It Works
Fourier AR™ comprises an angular and wavelength-selective metasurface optical combiner that is invisibly embedded inside the ophthalmic lens, reflecting RGB light from the µLED projector directly to the user’s eye — while remaining completely transparent to the outside world.
Manufacturing
Fourier AR™ is designed for scalable, cost-effective production. The metasurface optical combiner is fabricated using standard high-volume semiconductor manufacturing techniques, and the projector is built around an off-the-shelf µLED display panel using compact optical and mechanical integration.
Integration
Fourier AR™ aligns with standard ophthalmic lens workflows. The metasurface optical combiner is embedded into a lens blank and proceeds through standard surfacing, coating, and edging processes without modification. This seamless integration enables OEMs and lens manufacturers to preserve frame style, support prescription power, and avoid bulky assemblies — setting Fourier AR™ apart from waveguide-based systems.

Made for
All-day Glasses
Fourier’s AR display solution is invisibly embedded into all-day glasses, transforming them into smart devices without compromising style or comfort. Whether for navigation, real-time information, or hands-free notifications, it brings digital enhancements into everyday life — discreetly and efficiently.
